Detailed Itinerary [11 N / 12 D Trekking Tour]

Day 1 : Delhi

On your arrival in Delhi, you will be received by eland Holidays representative who will assist you to your pre booked hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 : Flight to Leh
In time you will be transferred to the domestic airport by the representative to catch the flight for Leh. On your arrival in Leh you will be greeted by our representatives there. They will assist you till the hotel as the rest of the day will be free for you to get familiar with the high altitude region. Also, you can continue with your personal activities followed by overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 : Full Day Excursion in Leh
In the morning soon after the breakfast you will leave for half day excursion of Leh palace, Leh Gompa and bazaar. The colorful bazaar of this unique place will win over your heart. The brilliantly designed Leh palace offers amazing views of Leh. Post lunch you will proceed towards Spituk, Phyang and Shankar Gompas. Spituk Monastery dates back to 11th century and is the venue to the famous Gustor Festival. Phyang Gompa is popular for its 900 years old museum. Shankar Gompa serves as the residence of the Head Lama. This gompa is popular for its brilliant architecture. Also the wall paintings grab a lot of appreciation from the visitors. Overnight stay will be in hotel.


Day 4 : Trip to Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Gompas
In the morning, after a nutritious breakfast you will leave for full day excursion to Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Gompas. Today you will visit the Shey, Thiksey, Hemis and Stok Gompas. Shey Monastery is famous for the large image of seated Buddha Shalyamuni inside it, considered to be the largest metal statue and the second largest Buddha statue in the region of Ladakh. Thiksey Monastery is a twelve storeyed building with 10 temples and nunnery inside it. Hemis Gompa is the Ladakh’s largest and richest Gompa, situated 48 km away from Leh. It is famous for a huge painting of Buddha which is displayed before the public only once in 11 years. Built in 1814, Stok Gompa is open to the public only during the daytime. It is famous for its rich collection of dance-drama masks. Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5 : Leh / Saspol (62 kms)
After breakfast, you will leave for Saspol. On your way you will visit the famous Likir gompa. This monastery is the venue of the annual prayer festival, Dosmoche Festival with about 100 Lamas (monks) on its roll. Afterwards you will have lunch at the camp. Later in the afternoon you will visit Alchi Gompa and the village. Founded by the translator, Rinchen Zangpo in the year 1000 AD, Alchi Gompa is one of the oldest and finest monasteries possessing many Thangkas belonging to 11th or 12th century. You will have dinner at River banks camping resort and will spend your night there only.

Day 6 : From Lamayuru Back to Leh

On the sixth day, you will visit Lamayuru which is approx. 66 km away and will take nearly 2 hours to reach this place. Here, you will visit Lamayuru monastery which is believed to be the oldest Monastic site. With several legends associated with it, Lamayuru Monastery has a rich collection of wall paintings and Thankas. Afterwards you will come back to Leh for overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7 : Drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung-la

After early breakfast, you will leave for Nubra valley with box lunch. You will reach this beautiful valley after crossing the Khardung-la pass considered to be the world’s highest motorable road. This valley provides the favorite trekking route to the trekkers.
From Khardung-la drive towards the village of Khardung and from here on you will proceed towards the travelers checking point at Khalsar through the beautiful countryside. After getting the permits registered/checked you will head towards Teggar camp where you will have dinner and will stay in the tents at night.

Day 8 : Day at Nubra

Once you will enter the Nubra Valley you will be taken away by the charm of the expanded beauty of this valley bordered by the Karakoram Range. This valley is also the gateway to the Siachen Glacier, considered to be the largest glacier in the world. On your way also drive through the capital Diskit. Soon after covering a distance of 9 km you will reach a small village, Hunder. Later in the evening you will visit the popular Samasthanling Monastery at Samur.

Day 9 : Drive Back to Leh

After an early morning breakfast you will leave for Leh. On your arrival our representatives will take you to the hotel for the overnight.

Day 10 : Sight Seeing at Leh

You will visit the famous tourist spots in Leh. After breakfast, you will leave for the Stok Palace and SOS Tibetan Refuge Camp at Choglamsar. Rest of the day will be free for you so that you cando your personal activities or just relax at hotel.

Day 11 : Departure to Delhi

In time transfer to the airport by our representatives in order to board flight to Delhi. On your arrival in Delhi, you will be greeted by our representatives and from there you will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel.

Day 12 : Sightseeing in Delhi

After the morning meal, you will leave for full day tour to various popular highlights in Delhi. The list includes Qutub Minar, President's House, Parliament House and Secretariat Building. Post lunch you will visit the historic places in Old Delhi like Rajghat, Shanti Vana, Jama Masjid, Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. Afterwards you will be transferred to the airport by our representatives in time to board flight for your onward destination.
