Tso Moriri Lake – the Serene Lake Bounded By Snow Capped Mountains!
Tso Moriri Lake is located to the south east of Leh in the middle of the prominent valley of Rupshu. In the changthang area, it is known to the public as Tsomoriri Wetland Conservation Reserve. This lake which means ‘the mountain lake’ derives its name from the fact that it gets water from the Changthang Plateau.

The calm environment of the lake takes you to a beautiful world where you can relax in the lapse of the Mother Nature. Adventure lovers will find attractive wildlife in the neighboring regions. Wild Ass, Marmots, Black-necked Geese, Redfox and the highly endangered Snow Leopard are the main attractions of this place.
Pangong Lake – Highest Lake in the World!
The moment the sunlight falls on Pangong Lake; its crystal clear water refracts a band of violet, blue, green, orange and red colors which can be observed on the surface appearing like a tinted canvas.

As it is situated at a height of approx. 4250 Mts. it becomes the highest lake in the world. Surrounded by beautiful gorges and vistas, this lake will definitely take your heart away. The flora and fauna of the nearby places is highly appreciated by the visitors. With Yaks and Mountain Cows being the easy ones to spot, several other rare species may also be occasionally seen near the lake. Other famous attractions of Pangong Tso are Chang La Pass (the third highest navigable pass in the world), ancient monasteries and the mountaineering school.
Nubra Valley – orchard of Ladakh!
Situated 10,000 ft. above sea level, Nubra Valley is a treasured place on this planet. Popularly known as ‘Orchard of Ladakh’, this valley is the house of rich vegetation. It is undoubtedly a kaleidoscope of landscapes and offers supreme trekking opportunities. Numerous yellow and pink wild roses decorate this warm valley to welcome the tourists during early summers. The popular attractions of Nubra Valley are the Samtangling Gompa, hot water Sulphur Springs, Diskit Gompa. It is among the top Ladakh tourist places.

The valley is nurtured by two equally beautiful rivers, Nubra and Shyok. Campsite near the rivers provides a wonderful option for accommodation.
Khardung Pass – world’s highest motorable road!
On the way to Nubra valley, one will pass through the famous point known as Khardung La or Khardung pass. This pass is used most by the Indian Army to carry out its supply processes. To cross the khardung pass one needs to get a permit which is not much difficult to obtain. This pass offers spectacular view of Rock Mountains, green valleys and the beautiful Karkoram range. One can easily get to the pass by a bus, taxi or bike.
Kargil – Gateway to Zanskar Valley!
Kargil, seated in the heart of the Himalayas, is the second major town of Ladakh. It has maintained its majestic beauty, magnificent hills and provides tremendous opportunities to the passionate adventure lovers. The famous activities that can be enjoyed here are trekking, rafting and mountaineering. Nestled along the mounting hillside of the Suru Basin, Kargil is the converging point of the Drass and Wakha channels of the river. Apart from its apricots, it is also famous for its abundant crops of wheat, barley and other crops. The popular attractions of Kargil are Mulbek Chamba, Mulbek Gompa and Shergol.
Drass Valley – the second coldest inhabited region in the world!
Drass valley, situated at a height of 3230m, is nurtured by the Drass River. The temperature in the winters can be really extreme and may even go down to minus 40 degree Celsius. This makes Drass Valley world’s second coldest inhabited region. It starts from the Zojila Pass and extends till the Himalayan Gateway to Ladakh. The valley is inhabited by the Brokpa Tribe who are involved in cultivating Barley and other cereals. The main attraction of this valley is trekking, the most famous route being the trek to the Holy Cave of Amarnath.
Rangdum – Land of Sheer Beauty!
Situated halfway between Kargil and Padum, Rangdum Village is an elliptical stretched out plateau surrounded by exquisite hills, crystal clear streams, pastures and Rocky Mountains. It is the proud possessor of an ancient monastery which is one of the most respected places in Leh Ladakh. The Rangdum Monastery falls on the way to Pannikar and Parkutse and dates back to the 18th century. It is appreciated by the visitors for its amazing structure and brilliant Buddhist architectural patterns. Seated in a beautiful location, this monastery is famous for its central prayer hall and its small museum.
Padum – Significant North Indian Buddhism Centre!
Padum valley, situated at an altitude of 3,505 Mts. between the Zanskar Range and the Great Himalayas, is believed to be the most inhabited regionof Zanskar. It attracts a lot of tourists towards its pure natural beauty, trekking routes and rich monasteries. The popular highlights of this valley are the set of rock carvings on the huge stone flanking the Zanskar River and ancient rock sculptures that represent the North Indian Buddhism influence in Ladakh. Starrimo Monastery is situated on a hill top and is designed by taking inspiration from Stupa Architecture while the Karsha Monastery which dates back to 10th century offers spectacular views of the green vistas.
Zanskar –brings you a step closer to Tibetan Culture!
Zanskar valley is situated 20 km south of Rangdum Valley amid the great Himalayan Range and the Zanskar Mountain. It is an exclusive Tibetan Culture settlement and the most isolated valley of the Trans Himalayas. The Buddhist population can be prominently found in the region. Due to heavy snowfall, the valley remains unapproachable for approximately 8 months. Enjoy the adventure sports like trekking on the famous Chadar Ice trek route and other challenging treks, river rafting on the frozen waters of the Zanskar River or visit the Karsha Monastery, Penzilla pass and Zanskar River.
